10/20/2023 0 Comments Diablo 2 crafted itemsDiscord servers for harvest seem to be a much bigger problem than harvest itself. PoE needs to have a crafting system that pushes the player to craft items instead of just picking pennies off the ground to buy every item from a crafter. I don’t think it’s a good comparison to make. The overwhelming majority of crafted items traded on d2 were made by bots because actually crafting items yourself took longer than farming up the currency to trade for the item. To a lesser extent, faith since the US servers didn’t have any good Amazon players. More builds were viable but they were only viable if they used the same 5-6 runewords that made them viable. Importantly, the impact runewords had on the endgame (pvp) was that they expanded build diversity at the cost of item diversity. A key difference was that D2’s online endgame was pvp, so “good enough” gear wasn’t really good enough and “min-maxed” gear meant 100% perfect. Right?ĭ2’s actual “crafted” rarity items were a worse version of essence, with a lower success rate and no way to modify them once crafted. Poe should at least be as good as Diablo 2. POE has too many damn mods that make the gambling like 0 of getting any one that a player actually wants. The endgame gear for D2 was all crafted, this had implications on the ladder, but allowed players to catch up in their respected classes.īut the reason cubewords work isn't because they were specific, it was because diablo 2 had small amounts of modifiers to roll. They worked because they were designed for the endgame, whereas POE's system is haphazardly brought into act 2 when you get your hideout. This means that their are hundreds of worthless crafts for the endgame that you collect during the campaign. Blizzard through in a hodgepodge of recipes that allowed players to craft for certain rolls using currency (OH NO, kind of like Harvest).Ĭubewords gave specific modifiers, generally very good, but not super broken. The cube was a poor mans extra storage that could upgrade healing pots, gems, runes, and convert ammo types. Anyway this whole harvest thing where people complained that they didn't have to rub rocks together to make items randomly got me thinking about diablo 2. But I sometimes read the reddit because it still makes me laugh, the bugs, the manifestos, etc. So, I stopped playing because the game became unstable, and just wastes too much time.
